L'albero di Natale ... con le arance ...
(Let's use natural materials for our Christmas tree)
|
This year we suggest a Christmas tree with warm tonalities: gold and orange.
These tints stand out very well among the green leaves of the trees.
To make it, we chose oranges that are a very beautiful and natural ornament.
You will need
- Oranges
- Orange silk ribbon
- Golden close-mesh net ribbon, light
- Golden wide-mesh net ribbon, heavier
- Red Christmas decorations
- Green iron wire, very thin
- Scissors
Time
- 2 weeks for desiccating oranges
- 1 hour to make the Christmas tree

The first step is desiccating the oranges and you have to do it two weeks before the time you want to make your Christmas tree.
Using a sharp knife slice the oranges into 1/2 cm (1/4 in) slices. Arrange them in light trays and put them on the radiators of your house. It's a simple
but efficacious method if you don't have a drier. You have to remember an only thing: turn every slice at least once a day!
When your orange slices are well dried, you can make your Christmas tree in a very simple way.
Hook every slice to the branches of your tree using only a little of green iron wire. Hide the green iron wire with orange ribbons.
Prepare some golden close-mesh net ribbons and arrange them on the tree alternating them with orange slices.
Dispose some red Christmas decorations too.
Wind the golden wide-mesh net ribbon around the tree.
